Planning for your summer road trip must include some safety essentials if you want to get to your destination in a timely manner. Consider the following summer road trip safety tips and you will lessen the chances that you are stranded and needing help on the side of the roads.

  • Keep some road flares in the trunk just in case the car breaks down and you need to warn other drivers that the car is disabled.
  • Be sure to carry a set of jumper cables in case the car battery fails somewhere during your drive or on a long stretch with no service stations.
  • Pack a box of assorted tools including wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, wire cutters, and a hammer.
  • Bring a roll of duct tape so you can make minor repairs easily and get back on the roads too.
