Back in 1966, Ford shocked the racing world when three of its GT40 race cars swept the podium at the Hours of Le Mans, beating perennial powerhouses like Ferrari and Porsche. This summer Ford returns to classic endurance race to once again battle for racing glory.

Today, Le Mans organizer, ACO (Automobile Club de l’Ouest), confirmed that it was accepted all four Ford GT entries into the GTE Pro class.

“It was great to see all four Ford GTs up there on the Le Mans entry list today,” said Dave Pericak, Ford Performance global director, who attended this afternoon’s press conference in Paris. “Newcomers are by no means guaranteed an entry, whatever their history or ambitions, so we thank the ACO for giving Ford the opportunity for a four-car assault in June.”

The race takes place on June 18-19. The Four GT race cars will run numbers 66, 67, 68, and 69. Driver line-ups will be announced closer to race day.
