Personalized or Vanity Plates

Sexton Ford can transfer your existing plates or issue you new, random license plates. This process typically takes approximately 60 days to process through the state. Once the state completes assigning these plates to your new vehicle, they will issue your title. When the title is issued, you can then place a request for personalized or vanity plates. And you can complete your request for personalized or vanity plates from the comfort of your own home!

Click the dropdown box to select the type of plate needed for your vehicle. The two primary choices for a vehicle are:
  • Passenger - this covers cars and SUV's
  • B-Truck - this covers most truck lines

    Once you select, your screen will update to describe the differences between personalized and vanity plates.

    • Step 3

    The license plate on the right-hand side of your screen says 'TYPE.' This is where you will type the characters you wish to make your license plate. Once you have typed in what it is you want, click 'Check Availability.'

    Step 4

    Once you land on an available combination of characters, you will go to the Registration Information screen. You will need the last 4 digits of your VIN, the current plate number, and expiration date of the plate.

    Step 5

    Submit your information, enter your payment and mailing information, then wait for your new plates to arrive!
